Founded in Delhi in 1978 by Mitesh Sadh, The Mitesh is an Indian fashion house built on a simple idea. A garment should feel personal, like it was made for you rather than stamped out for a season.

Every piece is finished by hand in small numbers. No two are ever quite identical.

Craft over speed

We don't chase the fashion calendar. Each collection begins with a technique rather than a trend, and everything we make carries a vintage-inspired hand.

Our detailing is done the slow way, through hand embroidery and hand-painted work. A single piece can take up to a week to complete. 

We always try to work as fast as the craft allows. But we won't rush the part that makes a garment worth keeping. The result is clothing that shows its making. A hand-painted line, the weight of real embroidery, a finish that feels aged and considered.

We treat these as signatures, not flaws. It's the difference between something manufactured and something made.

What the work looks like

Our pieces are known for three things: hand embroidery, painted detailing, and a genuine vintage touch.

Because everything is craft-led, quantities stay small. Pieces often don't return once they're gone, so if something speaks to you, it's usually a one-time chance.

Made to be worn by anyone

The Mitesh is designed without a men's or women's aisle. We build around structure, fit and self-expression rather than category, so a piece belongs to whoever it looks right on.

For a generation that dresses for itself, that freedom is the point.

The Vintage Collection

The Vintage Collection is where the house feels most itself: old imagery, reimagined and made wearable.

Set on soft beige with lace linking each stamp, it feels playful and easy to wear. It's a shirt for warm, carefree days that quietly carries a piece of history.

It's the clearest expression of what The Mitesh has always done: take something worth remembering and make it wearable.

Made with you: bespoke pieces

Beyond the collections, we take on a limited number of bespoke commissions each season. You bring the idea, the occasion or the memory, and we build the piece around it, choosing the fabric, the surface work and the fit with you directly.
