Our story
The Mitesh began with a simple belief: that the prints, weaves and hands of old India belong in the present tense.
Every piece starts in the archive — stamp engravings, miniature paintings, borders from textiles that have outlived their makers. We redraw them by hand, print them on handloom cloth, and cut them into silhouettes made for now.
Nothing is mass-run. Small batches, corozo buttons, single-needle seams. When a print sells through, it is retired.
We work slowly, on purpose. Fabrics are chosen for how they age, not how they photograph. Patterns are adjusted by hand, details refined over multiple samples, and every garment is made to be worn often and kept for years. The aim is not nostalgia, but continuity — carrying fragments of craft and history into everyday wardrobes without losing their character.
The four elements
- Earth — Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Rooted in texture, fabric and form. Earth signs value quality, discipline and lasting design.
- Fire — Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Driven by passion and confidence. Fire signs lead, inspire and leave an impression.
- Air — Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Curiosity, ideas and expression guide the Air signs. They adapt, communicate and see every side.
- Water — Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Deep feeling and intuition shape these signs. They protect, dream and transform.
Inspiration
Heritage should not remain preserved only in archives — it should continue to live through what we wear.
Drawing from vintage engravings, traditional stamps, miniature paintings, historic textile borders and symbolic motifs, the brand restores fragments of visual memory through contemporary clothing. Each reference is carefully redrawn, printed, painted, embroidered or constructed by hand, retaining the human irregularities that make every piece distinctive.
Handloom fabrics, intricate embroidery, patchwork, crochet and hand-painted surfaces are brought together with relaxed, modern silhouettes. Inspirations range from vintage maps and Japanese postage stamps to matchbox graphics, Kashmiri chain stitch and the protective symbolism of the evil eye.
The result is clothing that feels both remembered and new — crafted slowly in India, designed beyond gender and made to be worn, treasured and carried forward.
The story is yours now. Wear it. Live in it. Carry it forward.
